Jimmy Buffett: License to Chill
I’ve only had the chance to play this once, but it definitely won’t be the last!! Jimmy’s partnership with some of today’s biggest country stars is a real treat. Names, you want names? He’s got names: Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Martina McBride, George Strait, Bill Withers and Nanci Griffith.
The country collaborations are fine, but I’m more impressed with his original stuff on this record. Of the sixteen tracks, seven are originals and all are outstanding. Two of his original compositions, “Window on the World,” and “Back to the Island,” are reminiscent of Buffett’s best early recordings.
Parrotheads will have this one flying out of the stores in no time. Here’s what you need to do:
1. Stop by your local beverage dispensary and secure one case of Corona.
2. Kick out the kids.
3. Crank up this new Buffett disc in your stereo.
4. Consume mass quantities of Corona.
RATING: Be serious, the crabs are even drinking Coronas! A bushel of Bo Brooks’ best! (He rates albums by crab claws, 4 being the best, so this is quite impressive, Bo Brooks is a famous crab house in Baltimore and everyone around here knows crabs come in bushels!!)[/url]
