Jimmy Played in New Orleans Club on December 1st

A couple of reports were posted by BN members on an impromptu show that Jimmy Buffett showed up at in New Orleans on December 1st.

From tikimon: Jimmy played for 40 minutes at dba in New Orleans this past Saturday (December 1st). He showed up unannounced with some friends and jumped in during Cedric Burnside’s set break. To the best of anyone’s recollection, he played "For What It’s Worth", "Fins", "Volcano", "Changes In Latitudes" and a Mose Allison cover song. The cover charge was $5. Sure, you can fly around the world trying to catch an intimate but staged and rehearsed JB show or you could happen in on the real deal sometime right here in New Orleans … guess You Had To Be There.

From NOLA: Wandered into dba on Frenchman’s Street with 2 New Orleans friends on Saturday night, within a minute or two one of my friends had been grabbed by Quint Davis (of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival) and pulled up to the stage just as the evenings headliners were off on a break. Quint had spotted Kerry Brown, an amazing New Orleans drummer and knew Jimmy would play with the right backup. Quint introduced Jimmy to the audience as Jimmy Boo-fay, Kerry got behind the drum kit and 30 minutes later Jimmy stopped in the middle of the song to turn around and behold the wonder that is a fantastic New Orleans drummer. He was obviously as taken with Kerry’s talent on the drum kit as the rest of the audience was taken with him! A great though too short set, but a nice ‘only in New Orleans’ moment or 40.
