Ilo played a fantastic show at Joe's Pub in New York City last night. The sold out crowd was filled with fans, executives (only know that because Ilo introduced several MTV and VH-1 execs from the stage), Coral Reefers, and Jimmy Buffett!! Nadirah and Tina were in the audience, Mac and Jim Mayer were in the sound booth, and Jimmy joined the audience before the show, shook some hands, and then jumped up on the stage to introduce Ilo. After a great set with a very good band, Ilo came out for an encore with the band and Jimmy and Mac to play "Fisherman's Song". Jimmy was having a great time, lots of energy, and commented that "now I am singing backup for Ilo". Ilo closed the show with a nod to Bob Marley and sang "Three Little Birds" with the help of Nadirah and Tina.
I have to say, I have seen a countless number of Buffett shows, seen many of the Reefers play on their own, but this show was one of the best...just a great vibe...truly a New York Moment. Oh yeah, I also met Jimmy on the way out of the pub.

How many other artists go out of their way to discover and bring new talent into view without being territorial or have a chip on their shoulder? And keep a humble attitude about it along the way? Jimmy is great that way.Lonepalm10 wrote:Jimmy was having a great time, lots of energy, and commented that "now I am singing backup for Ilo".
