It’s another COLD Saturday at the MSC

My humor with the cold, snow, and ice is about done. I will have to eventually venture out to get the car gassed up and some groceries. I just want to stay under blankets and layers of warm clothes.
Grateful we haven’t lost power and I have a stockpile of things in the freezer so I can stretch leaving the house until later. They say another snow maker is headed our way tomorrow.
Time to look for cheap airfare.
Stay warm and be happy, phriends!

Hello Mel and all my other BN friends!
As of now it doesn't look like MB will be affected too much by the weather. May be some ice but.....they are weather "guessers" so....
Only thing we're doing today is heading to neighbors for dinner. These are the folks that both work in the local medical system. Dave works for the Endocrinologist that I am to see. That first appt was April 15. Dave spoke with the drs & yesterday I got a call - they are seeing me on FEBRUARY 6 (It's good to have great friends).

Good morning Mel and Linda!
Slept like crap last night. Fell asleep on the couch around 8:30, got up to go to bed at 11:30, and I was pretty much wide awake at 3:30.
It's F'in cold here, but not a lot of snow. Good thing I have food, fireplace, and adult beverages.
Not gonna do much, except maybe continue to clear out file cabinets.
Mel? Just stay where you are for another day..
Linda, glad you got a quicker appointment!!

Good morning Penny, Linda, and Mel! No snow yet, but the temp is in the single digits right now.

As Mel stated..
COLD!! In our area on the way to office this morning my car thermometer bottomed out at -18. Improved to -12 by the time I got to office.
Weather man said this morning we hit record low for this day of -20 earlier in the AM. Was gracious enough to tack on some wind chill numbers just for sport that I was not interested in.
My car is acting wonky. I had stopped at the store on the way in today. When I came back out & hit the push button start nothing......except every fricking light on the dashboard lit up. Long story short the manual said something about possibly my car wasn't connecting to the remote key fob. Advised taking my remote fob & pressing against the start button to reengage. I don't know. I did that & it begrudgingly started but I'm not sure if that was a fluke or that actually was the problem. Me thinks Mr. Subaru Forester hates this cold as much as I do & was saying to me keep my ass at home until the temp rolls over onto the plus side.
Enjoy your 24th day of January everyone!

Good morning Jerry! Stay warm!
Dang, I hate wonky car stuff, Ken.

Glad it did start, but that seems like an odd way to get the car started again.

Ugh, Ken!!!
My car is pushing 14 so I am always wondering what might be the final straw with it. It has been tucked in the garage for a few days, so I will test her in a little bit as I venture out for groceries.
I was going to wait another day, but the weather channel guy (well it is Facebook guy for me since I rarely watch the news anymore) is saying another snow storm tomorrow.
Might be time for us all to head where it’s warmer…

It’s warmer here in MB (but probably not as warm as the other side of the globe).

Good afternoon. Looks like I could have made the trip to North Charleston for the hockey game after all. Oh well, maybe some other time.
I got my Beer Of The Month Club delivery 2 1/2 weeks ago. I got an email about the next delivery already. They give you the option of skipping a delivery. I might do that, it's kind of close to the last one and I'm pretty well stocked on beer.

Hi there! That's a weird car issue, Ken. Anne's new Rav was dead in the garage. The dealer paid for a jump and we drove 24 miles to drop it off. They couldn't find anything, so we took it back. Days later it happened again. This time they a found something wrong in a computer, but multilpe trips to drop off and pick up were pain full.
I've watched tailgating videos and one had Parrothead Red and Jimmy Groovy. I was at that show in GW.So was Linda.
I remember that one. It may have been our 1st GW show (or 2nd, 3rd,4th).

I too am getting tired of this miserable cold weather, and I'm talking about the 44° we're supposed to see today. The coldest ever recorded in Seattle was 0° and that was January 31, 1950, a few months before I was born.
I did experience -15° once, but that was nearly 60 years ago in Kodiak, Alaska. No thank you very much!
Ken, living in a colder climate, you probably know more about cars and cold than me, but I do know cold weather can significantly impact car battery's performance, and if your car's battery isn't great, you'll have cranking problems in frigid temps. Just a thought...
Keep warm, everyone!

It's (much, much) warmer here!
Well over 110° in the old money again yesterday. A much better 100°forecast for today!
Apparently Monday and Tuesday it's going to get hot!

When I went to get my mail the weather app on my phone said it was 40 degrees. It felt a lot colder.

I think that would be fun for about three days then I would be whining about the heat. I hope you guys get rain soon. And a break in the heat as well.

It’s a balmy 13 here now. I walked to the mailbox in my hoodie, sweats, and slippers
It’s all about perspective, I guess.

So it's 7 degrees, going down to 2.. and snow has started again. But I got to see both of these sweet things..
Rabz, I'll split your heat with the cold all over the country right now.

I was drawing students in a small college 0n the New York border on the day in fall with the first frost. A student from Jamaica exclaimed," It was so cold....I had to buy gloves!" I said something like, "You are in for quite experience this winter."

Speaking of cold things...
I just wanted to clear up a misconception that is being promoted by the US Government.
To be clear.
Penguins do not come from the Arctic.
They are endemic to the southern hemisphere.
Could one of you explain that to the uneducated folk in your government making the AI images of Greenland?
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
