I’m Still Here Friday!!

Post by RIPH »

Morning pholks

Thought I would check in from Manatee County. Two storms in two weeks is way too much.

Coastline is a mess all along the west gulf coast. Clean up has started though which is good. Anna Maria Island and St Pete Beach are a disaster. The Trop lost its roof too.

Our condo is third floor and new so we hunkered down thru both storms. Being 7 miles from the coast helped too.

Lots of trees down and cosmetic damage but safe and sound. Spending our time helping get pholks back to normal as quick as possible.

Thanks for the good thoughts.

Good morning BN!

Actually not TOO busy of a day so far here. Shhh... don't tell anyone..

SO ready for the weekend. One day away from normal chores and such, and I'll be recharged.

Happy Friday!!

Good to see you made it through the storm, George.

It was 48 degrees when I woke up this morning, it's an almost balmy 64 now. It's supposed to be in the low 70s this afternoon so I'm not wearing pants.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

That isn't the only Trop that had problems this week. The Tropicana hotel in Las Vegas was imploded a couple of days ago. The stadium for the former Oakland A's is going to be built on that corner of the Strip.

Had my flu & pneumonia shots this morning. I winced on the first one and the nurse said "you have skinny arms - I hit your bone". Guess my arm is going to get much sorer as the day goes on. At least I got a lollipop :).

Off to stroll along Barefoot Landing this afternoon while the weather is cooperating.

For those who remember "Snowparrot" (Barb), she lost her husband Neil yesterday. He was fondly known as "noparrot"... :(

Suitcase is packed for our overnight stay tomorrow in Cripple Creek.

We'll get up in the morning, have some toast, run to the grocery and liquor stores, back home to finish getting ready/packing, and leave around 1:00. :D

Had a pizza for dinner from "Anthony's", thanks to GrubHub. It's been years since we had it, since they don't deliver to us directly.
