International Stout THURSDAY @ the MSC

Post by Dr.Corona »

First off, a good Thursday to all you Parrotheads out there today!
Secondly, appreciate good thoughts for my daughter as she has laparoscopic hysterectomy surgery today. She’s the nervous type about procedures & surgeries (of course most of us are). We’ll leave the house around 8 this morning or so.
Thirdly, BEER DRINKERS…Get your Stout on! International Stout Day celebrated on the first Thursday of November since 2011. I’m guessing by a Hallmark employee who has a taste for Guinness. I didn’t shop the card aisle yesterday but I’m SURE they’re must be a greeting card for it

Lastly, fingers crossed everything goes well for my daughter’s surgery today, then tonight I will be off to the Loverboy concert tonight at the local concert theater in town. Around 8:00 I’m gonna start Working For The Weekend! Have 2nd row seats so will be right in the action.
Enjoy your 2nd day of November all

Good Morning Ken.

Prayers for your daughter & your family for still dr hands during the surgery & for her strength afterwards.

Kevin loves a good stout....me, not so much as it seems to have too much of a chocolate flavor.

Good morning. Ken, I hope everything goes well for your daughter.

Looks like I'll have to wear pants again today, it's only 36 degrees. :o The good news is it's supposed to be 68 degrees tomorrow, then back into the 70s for the next few days.

I don't have any Guinness, or any other stouts, in the fridge. I should go to Total Wine and take a stroll through the beer section. I have a coupon for $2.00 off a 6 pack but I just looked at it and it expired Sunday so I'll have to pay full price. I hate leaving discounts on the table, especially when it's because of my own doofusness for not checking the expiration date.

And before I forget, Happy Birthday Elaine!!! even if you are a Yankees fan

It's also my father's birthday, he would have been 99 today.

It's been a good day. Went to World Market and bought some peppermint bark, then went to Total Wine and made a 6 pack, which included one stout I can drink later to celebrate International Stout Day. The Hurricanes have games today and Saturday against the NY Rangers and NY Islanders so I'm well stocked with beer for the 2 games. 🏒 🍻

Good afternoon, BN! :)

Hope all goes well for your daughter, Ken! Laparoscopic is certainly much easier to heal from.

I could use a good stout now.. I like 'em creamy/coffee'ish/cocoa. :)

E's car needs a new catalytic converter. :-? That ole check engine light came on yesterday. So we're carpooling for the next few days till they get the parts.

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELAINE!!! [smilie=hearts.gif] [smilie=hiya.gif]

Afternoon BNers

It is sunny, bright but 63 degrees. Still too chilly for me but getting warmer. It was 29 during the night.

Ya'll probably know about Bobby Kight. :(
He coached at Texas Tech for a few years. Years ago, Larry and I went to a TT game and sat right behind the bench. Bobby was screaming at the boys, his face was bright red....and TT was winning!!!!! Lol. I am surprised he didn't have a heart attack right then but that was Bobby Knight.

No stout here.

Fingers crossed and fins-up for your daughter's surgery today. It is easy to say "It's only laparoscopic" but it IS still surgery and I understand her being nervous. Tell her she has a whole PHlock of folks wishing her well!

Thanks Penny! Surgery went well. Happy for that! I may be needing a C.C as well. Check engine last week said I need O2 sensors, got them replaced. Now I’m getting same code. Car Doctor says could be the converter. Sucks if so.

Mailboat (Records) arrived, got my CD in today's mail. I'll add it to my iTunes library later and maybe plug the iPod into the dashboard and listen to it on repeat for a few days when I'm in the car. 🎵 🚗

We got ours last week, and I finally listened to the whole thing - some are wonderful, some are silly, some are just eh. So pretty much like all of his albums. :D

So glad everything went well for your daughter Doc!
My youngest daughter locked herself out of the house early this morning when she took the dog out. I threw on some clothes, stopped by the local hospital to get keys from my SIL, took them to her, stopped by Walmart on my way home. Then came home and did some chores in preparation for my BIL and his girlfriend to come for a visit this weekend. I also got my Christmas cards ready to mail. Also some Christmas items came today and one item is going back. My bonus grandson wants a stuffed cat that looks like George the cat who sleeps with him when he's here in Ohio. Well it came and it was a mess. It was vacuum packed, fur thin and flat. Ears flat, eyes wonky and uneven whiskers going straight back on one side and straight to the side on the other and it was 28 freaking bucks! But I'm almost done shopping for the kids! Just need stocking stuffers and such.

Hi there! Good news for Ken's keet. :D

I was at my nephew and his bird menagerie. We crushed apples and fed them to the emus. It was a HOOT! The female makes a deep thrumming beat sound.
