Cool! Makes me want to consider going after all. Have any idea where you'll be allowed to use it?
They're talking about curfew for River Days, and Slow Roll is now only for pre registered riders, with enforcement of existing alcohol, peeing, music volume, and loitering afterwards rules. Will they cut P-Heads some slack or try to make the newest section of River Walk compliant?

ParrotheadCMC wrote:So what are people thinking about tailgate locations?!?

Sounds like on the Olympia page that they will have parking on site. 7am start....but a workday might defer some from a crazy start...

Wondering at noon where we might land with our crew....anyone else?
I emailed Olympia about tailgating in their lots, or anywhere for that matter. I can't imagine they would open that early and not allow it, but you never know. It's been 3 days, they haven't replied, so at this point I'm not expecting one. The Olympia parking lots look pretty limited, they don't own a lot of land in that area like they do in Foxtown.

Maybe tailgating will be tolerated but not officially sanctioned, so they won't reply because they don't want to discourage but can't go on record saying illegal activity will be fine?
I got to find out Chip........Diane is leaving town to be with our Grandkids, Daughter, and her Mom this Tuesday leaving me all alone for Buffett weekend once again this year.....you guys took good care of me last time (Pine Knob/DTE!) I wanna go but ONLY IF THERE IS A GREAT PARTY ALL AFTERNOON!
I don't want to have to sneak a sip from a brown paper bag after scanning for security each time!

Just to let you know tailgating IS allowed. Parking is $60, same as at Comerica. I will be there as well.

Hope to trade a Hurricane for a turn on the shotshark.

So early entry as well as tailgating, just a steep fee. Good to know!

I was planning on a last minute decision and picking up a single ticket there. At $60 they are not going to require a ticket for lot entry.....or are they?

Thanks! But will they ban bringing in your own beverages so the vendors can sell more?

I was looking at getting there about 9am. Is anyone local gonna be down early next week to get a look at the set up? I was just wondering if the pre-party is in the park or on the street?

Got a reply from Olympia today. Nothing we didn't already know, but I'll pass it along...

Thanks for your inquiry. Here is the link for the map: http://olympiaentertainment.s3.amazonaw ... ng-map.jpg The West Riverfront and Olympia Development lots do in fact open at 7 am for fans to come and set up to enjoy the day. Please note, however, there is no tailgating allowed in the Joe Louis Arena Garage. The party is on site, but not in a ticketed area so you are able to roam freely back and forth. Once you do in fact enter the ticketed area, however, there is no reentry. For additional information on the show and what is permitted inside, please click here: http://www.olympiaentertainment.com/ven ... her-venues

I feel like parrotheads, as a group, tend to be in the demo that's given the most slack.

And there are still floor seat Groupons available for another 3 hours for $59 including fees (and may have 25% off, I haven't tried the code), just to twist your arm a bit!

We're kind of going solo- Kevin and Pam have decided to work all day then wander down after. We're absolutely not going to be there at 7am, more like the crack of noon.

The only thing I'm worried about is if this rainy weather doesn't stop this week and the lot gets to soft.

That and how many people they will allow to park there if it is dry. I don't think I'll probably wont get there till around 2 I have a feeling the parking will be gone and I'll have to go to Joe garage or a lot to the west. At least if that happens you can just go to the Olympia preshow
