Lawns sure went quick, guess its the economy. I got two in Sec 202 at Publix Ticketmaster and am still pulling pairs of reserved at 10:55, some better than my seats. :pirate:

We got 4 seats (or spots on the grass....same thing).
OK....so now we only have a few weeks to get the party organized.

Anyone ever try and put together an organized tailgate party at Lakewood? What are some of the details for this place? Can we set up portable our portable canopy? Tables for food and drinks?

With all the bad news around us lately, we'll need a good day to blow off some steam!!! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Yes, yes, and yes. People bring in sand and wading pools too.
Keith, do you have a link to your "Dawgpound" at Lakewood for them to see?

We have our tickets, section 206 row AA.

We did pretty decent. All we could pull for pairs was 200 sections. We ended up jus going for singles since we have normally had much better luck that way. In the end we got one single in section 102 row f, a single in section 101 row f, and a single in section 101 row s. If we decide not to take the keet with us the single in section 101 row s might be for sale. We never did have any luck with the vip parking. It said nothing was available right from the start. Did anyone else have any luck with purchasing parking tickets?

I got lucky I guess. Section 102, row K. The whole transaction was done in under 30 seconds. Not sure how that happened. For those who have not been to Lakewood before, things change from year-to-year. Some years the gates opened at 9am, but that was on a weekend. The latest I've ever seen them open was noon, last year. Tailgating is among the very best anywhere on a weekend in the summer; it will be a bit less great on a weekday in the spring. Weather can be iffy, possibly warm and pleasant, but it can also be cloudy and rather cool. The local gendarmes are pretty lenient; they won't hassle you much. It helps to put a lei on their horses, though. They like that. Don't sell liquor, they will arrest you for that. Don't plan on staying overnight in the lot, either before or after; the neighborhood gunfire will keep you awake.

We're staying that night at the Downtown Marriott, it is where we stayed last year and they treated us well.

I guess everyone has their "best location" story but I've always setup somewhere between the lake and the amphitheater, the dawgpound is usually in that area too. Its a gravel area so it can be a bit dusty but its not as hot as sitting on asphalt (if it should be hot). There'll be a lot of friendly people willing to share their food and drink but the port-a-johns get real busy later in the afternoon. Last year the gates didn't open until noon which backup traffic on the access roads. Bring what ya want, canopy, grill, coolers, food, but please, include a trash bag or two. Some of the parrothead clubs cleanup the next day and the place is a real mess, but its best not to make the mess in the first place (don't know why the trash thing bothers me but it does). :pirate:

So far the excitment about this show leaves alot to be desired.
The "Frisco" (TX) show has 54+ pages already where as we have 3.
Even the Jones Beach, NY show has more.....and thats not for 6 months!

Come On Atlanta!!!! We can do better! :o

It's like this every year, yet the venue is packed with people the day of the show. I guess a lot of Atl parrotheads are communicating on other sites, which I don't know as I've always liked this one. [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

We had one of the best times in Atlanta last year...can't wait to get back to see all our newest "closest friends" in the great state of Georgia and from anywhere else too who stopped in TYHOT ATLANTA! Toto here won't be in Kansas any more! Any info on happenings that you can pass along will be appreciated.
Fins UP! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Hey all, I think I might be able to make it to this show again this year thankx to a very generous PH. I am the eeediot on the lawn with the custom Buffett Cubs jersey and Capt's hat from the Army/Navy store in Athens, GA that you may have seen roaming around the lots the last couple of years. It was great to meet some of you the past few years, but I am looking forward to an April date without the June 102 degrees! It reminded me of dat Jamaican song: 96 degrees in the shade....real hot! This year I don't have to import Yuengling from the Carolinas since we have it now. The LSL booth was awesome with freebies all around. Still looking for the Rock Band Sharkmobile that was missing that day for its grand debut.

Phins up!!!

Hey, Duckett is looking to tailgate with y'all.....is there anyone willing to show him what a Jimmy Buffett tailgate is all about? Check out the Duckett's Summer Adventure thread and let me know if you're willing to host him. It'll be his first show of the summer :D

Yes I did! We parked in it last year! Lots of fun! Last few concerts...we have bought VIP parking and it has been some of the best tailgaiting! Last year we were in Atlanta but the years before each were in a different venue! It was awesome and we met some of the best people too, not only did Atlanta rock...which is why we are going back this year but every where we go to Buffett...VIP has been SWEET! You all are just best friends we haven't met yet! :D
