Trip Around the Sun SATURDAY @ the MSC
Good morning BN. Dick Van Dyke's 100th birthday is today. A great milestone for an endearing actor. We drive by a pond with a huge willow. It looks like the cartoon dance scene he did with penguins.
Walnuts for everyone!
Walnuts for everyone!
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Re: Trip Around the Sun SATURDAY@ the MSC
Good Morning Bill and everyone else who stops by for a chat.
We are planning to head to the beach this afternoon -- will probably need to wear long pants & a sweatshirt but we will still be at the beach.
Nothing much going on today -- I'm still waiting for Kevin to "help" me hang that shelf in the laundry room
.
Tonight is our 2nd annual Community Christmas Parade. Last year I was on the committee but we were in PA with family celebrating an early Christmas.
There will be lots of kids & adults, Golf Carts, bikes, wagons & strollers. The only rule is anything and anyone in the parade must be decorated. The last participant is Santa & Mrs. Claus in the back of a red pickup truck. Then back to the pool parking lot for music, hot choc, a Photo Booth set up & a meet & greet with Santa. We aren't participating in the parade but will have a few folks on our driveway to watch it go by.

My excitement for today so far was trying not to spill my just-purchased hot Wawa coffee as a sandhill crane slowly crossed in front of me, moving from one pond to the next.
Have a great day, everyone

A year before his death Jimmy donated the plane in the video (a Boeing-Stearman Model 75) and his Grumman Goose to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park with a request that his donation be kept anonymous until after his death.

Working today and hoping to get home before the snow starts
I'll be spending the rest of the weekend making cheese balls and finishing up the last of the baking. Our big family party is next Saturday and my kids come in town on Friday so I'm going to make a menu for while they are here!
Also, going to watch the Heisman ceremony tonight.
Hey, Doc...I'm sorry about your coach. I thought he was going to be good for your program for the long term.
Good luck today, E and Penny.

Good afternoon/evening.
I had an appointment to donate platelets at the Red Cross earlier. I have to drive by a Tanger Outlet Mall to get there, it's about 1/2 mile away. It's 12 days before Christmas and a Saturday, the mall is going to be very busy. They decided to have a food truck festival in the parking lot today.
On the way home there was a car in front of me with the license plate 4QUARTS. I guess GALLON wasn't available.![noeyedear-shrugging [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]](./images/smilies/noeyedear-shrugging.gif)

It was beautiful at the beach. Sweatshirt and pants were just fine.
Back home and enjoying an adult beverage in the Carolina cabana room.
We’re going to look for the meteor shower tonight.

Re: Trip Around the Sun SATURDAY @ the MSC
Good even, all. Spent 6 hours at the hospital with E. At about 2:00, his Mother and Brother showed up. (no, not a surprise). They drive all the way through the night from OK. We visited for a bit, then I went to a waiting area (which was empty, and I enjoyed the quiet). Then his brother and I visited for a while, and it was very nice. I then came back to his room to say goodnight. He pretty much ONLY sleeps. Is in a bit of pain. And still in ICU, probably tomorrow too.
They DID put in 2 stents, and the bilirubin levels are coming down. His kidneys were failing during the surgery, and were afraid they'd have to do dialysis. But so far, nope. I'm tired, only had a cookie today, so I think I'll make a bagel for dinner.
Thanks for all the good wishes..

Actually I thought you guys were pretty happy with him. I'm being serious...tell me how you really feel. You're welcome for the card. Hopefully by the end of the week we can get the house cleaned out. His bedroom, the 3 upstairs bedrooms, the basement, garage and screened in porch are still a mess.

You gotta do your best to take the positives & embrace them. Those positives are what’s needed for recovery.
