Hi Molly and LMS,
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Still raining but just slow showers. I guess the 75 miles from the coast really made a difference. We really need the soaking rain.
After all this time, you would think people would stop driving into water.

Re: It's Beta Tues in the MSC
Hi All,
I went down to the rifle range last night. For the first time in months I was able to book a spot (due to covid restrictions we can only have a small number of shooters on the range at any one time).
I decided to go all retro and broke out a couple of 'experienced' rifles. One started life in the early 1950's and the others origins would be closer to 1900 than 1920.
Got set up with the 1950's rifle but it began to play up and eventually stopped working. Damb. It happens with antiques though.
Set up the other rifle and I struggled to get into the groove but finally worked out how it wanted to be shot. Now keep in mind I am competing against some modern race guns with scopes that are cost more than a small car and the rifles are more than that. I was using an open sight system (parker hale peep sights) that would have been fitted to it in the 1950's.
I came in third.
To say a couple of the race gun owners were unimpressed would be an understatement.
But now comes the hard bit - I have to find some parts for a 70+ year old rifle...

My Daddy was a gunsmith and would be impressed. And might help you with parts. ❤

Well done! I have a peep on my first deer rifle, a black powder lever action that hangs on the mantel. It was my grandpa's favorite rifle.Rabbitz wrote: ↑September 22, 2020 5:17 pm Hi All,

Re: It's Beta Tues in the MSC
While I am open to all suggestions for assistance, it might be problematic as the rifle is an Australian made thing. Although the manufacturer did move to the US and became Kimber Rifles (in Oregon I think).springparrot wrote: ↑September 22, 2020 5:25 pm

So here goes, with fingers crossed, The spring I am looking for is the firing pin spring for a Sportco Clubman .22.
Having disassembled the thing now, the spring dimensions are (converted to imperial as best I can):
OD = .23"
Wire thickness = 0.04"
Length = 3.25 to 3.5" (This is a guess as the spring has been under compression for 70 odd years so will have changed length).
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

You know those easy rain showers??
It has been raining alot harder for a few hours. We are under a flood warning. We will be fine but I'm sure the low spots are filling up.
