Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC
Yawn.... good morning readers. It will be hot and I will get a nap. We will take a drive to eat out first.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
Re: Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC

Good morning BN. Someone apparently had some fireworks left over and decided to light them up starting at 6 am this morning. If I could have found them I would have lit them up.

That's okay, we had three loud party calls 5 in the morning. Talk about all night fun.Crazy Navy Flyer wrote: ↑July 5, 2020 11:56 am Good morning BN. Many years ago my neighbors across the street were having a very loud and late party. They couldn't hear the police banging on the door. The police found the electrical box on the side of the house and shut their power off to get their attention. It worked.moog wrote: ↑July 5, 2020 12:24 pmThat's okay, we had three loud party calls 5 in the morning. Talk about all night fun.Crazy Navy Flyer wrote: ↑July 5, 2020 11:56 am Good morning BN. Re: Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC
Fireworks are legal in South Carolina. I heard a lot of stuff going off last night in the neighborhood but people were surprisingly considerate. It was loud around 10:00-10:30 but by 11:00 it was pretty much over, I hardly heard anything after that. I didn't hear any sirens either so I guess we didn't have any "hold my beer and watch this" accidents.

Good afternoon. My grand son's 11th birthday was July 2. My daughter threw a small party for him last night.
We cooked hot dogs over an open fire, drank beer, watched a movie outdoors (Tommy Boy), had root beer floats,
and set off a crapload of fireworks.

Re: Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC

Afternoon, peeps.
Pretty quiet yesterday. We had a nice cookout with friends and family. Lots of low cloud cover so, while we could still see the fireworks, they didn't get very high or loud. Which was easier on the dog, he is usually terrified and cowers in the bathroom until they are over.
Company is all gone so we're just vegging today and eating leftovers.

Hi All,
Freezing here this morning (well freezing for here...) 41 or 42°F.
We are having pork & beans for dinner tonight I am told. I would like to make some cornbread but I am not sure what cornmeal is. Once again two cultures separated by a common language.
Is it ground corn like "polenta"?

Re: Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC
I just googled Polenta Cornbread and several recipes popped up! I like to make a "loaded cornbread" with chopped fresh jalapeno, grated cheddar cheese, a can of diced green chilies, some hot sauce and crispy bacon added to the batter! Unfortunately, I'm the only one who likes it! My family prefers my plain sweet cornbread.Rabbitz wrote: ↑July 5, 2020 4:55 pm Hi All,

Afternoon BNers
Last volley of fireworks we had was close to 2am. This is getting to be a tradition. Guess people close to him/her don't mind.....

Our Free neighborHood fireworks displays were pretty much done by 11.
Up early and at the gym today. It’s topping out at 97 today. Very thankful for friends with pools! And for our own AC.
Tomorrow is when all judicial staff are to report. There are 2 that haven’t stepped foot in the courthouse since March 19. However we were also told that plexiglass would be installed on our desks “starting Monday”. That was 6 weeks ago. None of the 14 chambers has seen a spec of plexiglass. .
But then no one specified which Monday

Re: Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC
The flower shop is supposed to reopen to the public tomorrow....the middle daughter who is an RN brought her dad and I 2 new masks yesterday when she came to visit. I spent the morning measuring and sewing the elastic ear loops. The patterns are really cute. My boss is not making any announcements regarding the reopening, just gonna unlock the doors and post a sign stating that we require a mask for entry. We have masks available if needed.
Our oldest daughter asked if they could come for a quick overnight visit this coming weekend, and of course we said Yes! I spent time this afternoon cleaning the upstairs in preparation for them. It's really just a matter of dusting, cleaning the bathroom and vacuuming, but it still takes a couple of hours. But, now it's done and all I'll need to do later this week is clean the kitchen, downstairs bathrooms and vacuum. So excited to see the grandkids!

Re: Slow n Sleepy SUNDAY@ the MSC
Hi there! The local fireworks at our neighbors were load, but short lived.
A long time ago, I was the announcer at our display at the football field. The crowd was at the north goal with a barrier rope on the 50 yard line. I saw an unruly kid, around 8 years old, running to cross the barrier towards the display. I was in the press box g and gave directions in my best radio voice for the audience to remain behind the barrier . Then I bellowed into the PA system"AND THAT MEANS YOU, JOHNNY!"
The little darling had grabbed the rope when I yelled. He almost fell over, turned and ran back away from the display. He had no idea it was me on the mike or that he was being watched.

Polenta is basically coarsely ground cornmeal so you could get away with using it.Rabbitz wrote: ↑July 5, 2020 4:55 pm Hi All,
