Good morning.
Happy Bobby Bonilla Day. The Mets released Bonilla after the 1999 season and he retired in 2001 but every year on July 1 the Mets pay him almost $1.2 million. The annual payments last until 2035. They owed him $5.9 million when they released him and this is the deal they negotiated instead of just paying him off with a lump sum. Only the Mets.

I guess in addition to considering this hump day of the week we should consider this hump day of the year. But will this year realllllly end ????
In honor of the delayed tax day are you planning another Birthday Celebration in a couple weeks Larry??

The Mets owner, Fred Wilpon, had a lot of money invested with Bernie Madoff. They were assured they would earn at least a 10% return on their investment so they agreed to defer Bonilla's $5.9 million at 8% interest. They got screwed.Dr.Corona wrote: ↑July 1, 2020 12:27 pmGood Afternoon BN!!LIPH wrote: ↑July 1, 2020 10:55 am Good morning.

As for delayed tax day and another birthday celebration, no. If I were 33 and it was August I might celebrate 33 1/3. Youngsters probably won't get that.

Well day 2 of a brand new financial year (here in Oz). Apparently the tax office website crashed yesterday due to the load of people doing their taxes online.
Happens every year. Followed by a press conference where the parliamentarian responsible looks suitably shocked and surprised and says something about "unprecedented traffic". Except there was a precedent - last year, the year before, the year before that...

I am sitting in my home office working away - still in my PJ's. (well the clothes that serve as PJ's, I am sure I don't have actual PJ's).bodypainter wrote: ↑July 1, 2020 6:51 am My Jamaican vacation's gonna start right here...

Happy birthday, Ryan!!!
No bar opening yet here - still working on what's for dinner. Food doesn't sound all that good yet.
Co-worker just sent me a picture - when I'm in the hospital, and not in my office, I now have to wear a face shield, too.
Back to the couch...
