Blow Your Kazoo MON @ the MSC
Good Morning Everyone!
Here's your useless information for today
NATIONAL KAZOO DAY
January 28 is National Kazoo Day, recognizing nearly 200 years of kazoo music in the United States.
Alabama Vest of Macon, Georgia made the first Kazoo in the 1840s. The instrument requires little effort to create a sound (though some skill is necessary to make intelligible music) the kazoo adds a jazzy element to a song or comedic punctuations to just about any skit. If you can hum, you can play the kazoo!
Inspired by the African horn, the Mirliton, made from bone, gourds and a variety of other materials, Vest partnered with Thaddeus Von Clegg to produce his design in metal. Clegg, a German clockmaker, took Vest’s idea and put it into production.

Good morning Linda. Our alumni association had a kazoo/folding lawn chair band in a parade once. We tapped the metal chairs and did parade patterns as we blew kazoos. Mine is hanging in the bed room.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning!
Can I have one and take it to work??
No time for 'fun' this morning. More snow, and traffic already sucks. Why can't it always snow during the day, and not overnight??
Have a great day!

Good morning. There's a crude comment waiting to be made about the title of today's thread, but I'm much too classy to make it.
If I go out on my balcony and look to the west, the sun's shining and there's a bright blue sky with some puffy white clouds. If I go out my front door and look to the east, it looks like it's going to rain any minute. I prefer the view in the western sky.

Thought this was gonna be a thread about the city of Kalamazoo.........affectionately know as KZoo.
As they're expecting anywhere from 6-10 inches of snow today.....it'll be a Snowblow KZoo
Monday.........
Here in Flintown we're looking at 7-9 inches of the white powder with blowing & drifting.
May be an early exit from work later on for me.............
In the meantime, this is the perfect day to strike up the Trop-Rock playlist on the I-pod!

Re: Blow Your Kazoo MON @ the MSC
I thought about Kalamazoo as well. I keep looking out the window and it doesn't seem like we are getting a lot of snow and then it is a white out. Been out a few times to shovel the front sidewalk and a path for the old dog. We have snow blown the first half of the driveway and it is obvious we have a few inches of snow out there With the snow and cold I probably will only see one day of work this week. We won't know what to do once we have to actually attend a 5 day week of schoolDr.Corona wrote: ↑January 28, 2019 12:39 pm Thought this was gonna be a thread about the city of Kalamazoo.........affectionately know as KZoo.

Re: Blow Your Kazoo MON @ the MSC
Ahoy! I spent several hours prepping for Cabin Fever with carved stuff making a table decoration. The theme is Barometer Soup, but sports and teams can be done as well. I went with Jimmy's lyrics, making a barrel that will go a roll. That will be near the sun. A boat with a snow plow and a flat iron will plow the seas and smooth the troubled waters. There are three small islands (or keys), with one named Moderation.
I have too much free time.
I hate winter.

We were rather slow at the flower shop today, so I opted to head home early before the rain and snow hit. Hope everyone is safe and snug this evening!
