Introducing leader dog Hope!
This post has been 6 months, but life has been very busy breaking in a new leader dog and getting to know her and starting over with a new dog plus dealing with health issues of my own. Without any further delay, parrotheads I would like you to meet the new 4-legged member of the parrothead nation, Hope. I received Hope on October 26, 2016. She was 16 months old when she pranced in my life and straight to my heart. She is a golden retriever, and she is absolutely amazing. I fell in love with her immediately. She is smart as a whip. She is a sucker for a challenge and loves going to new places and learning new things. She has been my leading lady from the moment I met her. She takes her work very seriously, but she also plays as hard as she works. HOPE and I had a rough start because on the day I was supposed to come home with Hope I had an asthma attack that landed me in the hospital for luckily just an overnight stay, but Hope stayed at Leader dog school while I was in the hospital which was in our best interest because Hope needed me to be well, but being away from her even for one night drove me nuts. After a night of being pumped with breathing treatments, antibiotics, and steroids, I was able to be reunited with Hope, and we eventually came home. It took me a few months to get back to feeling totally well, and my Hopey girl has been there every step of the way accommodating me. In July, Hope and I will be taking our first major trip away from home together. We will be going to Chicago, and Hope will experience the parrothead madness for the first time. I don't know how to post pictures, so Penny, you have my permission to lift some pictures of Hope off my FaceBook page and post them here for me. ![Image]()

Thank you everyone! Well, I saw the announcement of Jimmy doing a show in Eugene, Oregon in October. After a couple of rum punches and sitting out in the sun with Hope today I decided that going to this show will be Hope's first major flying adventure with me. As a team, we will be ready once October gets here.

Some of you have had the privilege of meeting Hope & Liz. They both accompanied us on our Pittsburgh Buffett Concert trip this year.
