I'll start the thread again this year
Who's going to be in the D? Work starts now in overdrive for the planning!
It's sad when you get bummed out over 14th row! LOL.

Who's going to the Hoedown show at West Riverfront Park and scouting out the tailgating scene?

West Riverfront Park has added a R. Kelly show on May 29. The more the merrier, let them work the kinks out on a new venue before the Buffett show.

I think now all of us wonder, what the tailgate will be like! I really don't want to set up in a parking garage all day. Then again, it is instant shade, LOL.

Hi all--
Long time no post. We were trying to fenangle coming up to Detroit, but it is proving to be hard with our vacation schedules.
I had jumped the gun though and bought 3 lawn tickets from the pre-sale before my wife got the official "no" from work.
They are paper tickets that I can mail as soon as I have them in hand. Of course, selling for face which is $197 for all three.
Email me (
ajcaraballo25@gmail.com ) or PM me if interested.
Bummed out!

Might not be a bad idea Chip. Determine if it will be an epic fail or not for Jimmy. Very skeptical at this point. Friends will be out of town for Buffett so I may make it a
game day decision on whether to truck down solo.

With each year, roadies are getting harder and harder for us! I haven't seen a lot of the BN crew in forever!
In good news though, the tickets have already been scooped up, but I would have much rather tried out the new venue!

The update announcement on R. Kelly concert says that "parking details" are coming soon.
So they are working on a plan for extra lots close by.
In the mean time keep writing Olympia emails and on Facebook asking about tailgating so they know that close lots are of the utmost importance.

I read through the Detroit PHC Facebook page, they are saying that they have a lot at 8th & Fort.

Olympia Entertainment has an artist's rendering of what the venue should like like on a concert night. I think that's the Post Office in the lower left, the Ren Cen at the very top and a foreign country off to the right.

Chip you're right that is the post office for anyone that's ever been there. The white building just north of the stage is Joe Louis arena. Right in front of that is the skyscraper building with docks..that's riverfront apartments
The scale is a little off in that picture . the river isn't that wide .
The ren cen is about a 2.5 mile walk along the river walk from the park. That thing is going to be packed with boats from as far as lake st. Clair to as close as people from grossed Ilse motoring up the trenton channel to watch
I don't see any barriers and they make it look like the general admission area is fenced in.
I wonder how they will stop people from just walking down the riverbank and watching for free.
