The previous post causes us MOTM newbies to inquire what block of Duval does Street Fest take place? Another question, what are anyone's experiences with the shuttles? With most of the entertainment taking place at the CMR, we would like to find an easy way to get down to Front Street and back.

There will be hard core MOTM folks who will be able to shed better light, but I will try to help. When I was at MOTM in 2012 I stayed at the Casa, so I took the shuttle from the Casa to various places a few times. I found the shuttle experience to be very good. From the start of MOTM until the end, the shuttles were in heavy rotation around the island. It was easy to grab the shuttle from the Casa to get where ever we wanted to go. If you are on front street and want to grab a shuttle, find a corner, watch for a shuttle, and always keep your MOTM badges handy to wave so that the shuttle will stop for you. Also, bring a bunch of $1.00 bills with you for tipping the driver. I believe the street festival is on the block where margaritaville is. Like I said, other people will be able to better answer your questions, but I hoped this helps, and I hope I meet you at MOTM this year. It will be here before we know it.

It's the child in us we really value
Here we are, with our fins up and our feathers flashing
Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting

OK I have a question (or two)
my most recent MOTM was 2007 and the Casa was a hot mess. (not enough bar staff, wait staff, we couldn't get a meal, they raised the prices for the food and drink...ETC....) I have a couple locals that are asking me questions. so before I tell them about my latest Casa adventure... has it gotten any better? or is it the same cluster....... that I ran into?
thanks

they have been more organized since, but... they really are proud of their services and the prices reflect that. too, after two weeks of fantasy fest running, a lot of the staff are not in tip-top form

Went last year being my first time. The food outside prices about same in other restaurants in KW. Wed. night bought an expensive fancy drink but was nice to see for the next 3 days tables set up with very reasonable prices. Considering how many were at the Casa, the staff was good. Cant beat the fun for the small registration fee. As of now, planning on this year again & staying longer. BTW that fancy drink was awesome, key lime something, will be bought again.

my most recent time was 2007 I was at the Casa on Monday and then on Thursday. the Burgers went up $1.50 and the Beer went up $1.00 from Monday to Thursday. .not on Duval... in the Casa. also I was very nice and pointed out the short falls of the weekend to the Food and Beverage manager and was told "well if you don't like it you can go spend your money on Duval "

thanks
they have been more organized since, but... they really are proud of their services and the prices reflect that. too, after two weeks of fantasy fest running, a lot of the staff are not in tip-top form
Now this thread causes us to inquire, can outside coolers be brought to the Casa Marina Beach Stage area? Just want to save a little scratch whenever we can. Also, does anyone know what kind of pet policy they may enforce at the Big and Beach Stages? Mr. Utley is planning to attend during the day time shows.

Okay, another question. What are the seating arrangements like at the Casa concert venues? Is seating provided or are beach chairs necessary?

Seating will be provided. You will not need to bring a beach chair.

It's the child in us we really value

Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting

Glad to hear this. We were concerned about having to lug them around. Makes carrying a beverage much easier.

That's not the entire story on seating though. You have to make sure you are there EARLY because the beach chairs etc are first come first served. I know last year they ran out for a while. Plus the longer you wait the less options you have of WHERE you sit. But if you get there early and stake out your piece of sand you should be fine.
