Uh-huh, and now the worry is that they may not let us take vacation time. Congress needs to unscrew this mess fast!Carolinadreamin' wrote:They voted to pay the non-essential employees for the time they are furloughed....(which I'm happy about but trying not to make sense of).......![]()
so we may be able to pay the bills, keep the lights on and go to KW!
When Bob got the phone call last night, one of the guys he works with was still in VA Beach and said he might not be in for a few days. One of the bosses was in Bermuda....he's not coming in either. The responses were......"whatever"......SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Uh-huh, and now the worry is that they may not let us take vacation time. Congress needs to screw THEMSELVES. (The way they're screwing 800,000 of their employees, veterans, National Guardsmen/women, and Reservists.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Congress needs to unscrew this mess fast!
Hope this works out for both of you and you can enjoy your trip to KW.Carolinadreamin' wrote:When Bob got the phone call last night, one of the guys he works with was still in VA Beach and said he might not be in for a few days. See you then! Can't wait.........9 days until wheels up for us!AmyLee wrote:Okie dokie - here's what I have going on during MOTM
Motown Monday! at the Little Room Jazz Club 821 Duval St. from 8:00 - 12:00
So that's Mon Oct 28 if anyone is coming early. (I will be out on tour Nov 4)
Always a fun night with a 5 piece band playing Motown and other Soul/R&B stuff.
Then my duo Jenkins Lee will be playing at the Little Room on Fri Nov 1 from 6:00 til 8 after the Margaritaville Street Fest; that's me and guitarist/vocalist Woody Jenkins.
We do everything from the Allman Brothers to Santana, JB, and Zak Brown as well as some originals
I am doing this as a benefit for the Autism Society of America (My dear sweet now 17 yr old 6'5" tall nephew has a form of autism called Asperger's Disorder. That is how I became involved with this Society.)
Fran at the Little Room is concocting a PH drink special just for this occasion, and I will be raffling off a LOT of the Buffett Tour swag that I collected over 15 years on the road! Flip flops, T-shirts long and short sleeved, hats, jackets, sweat shirts, T-shirts, and more T-shirts!!! All in brand-new never worn condition.
The featured item is a POLO by Ralph Lauren leather bomber jacket from the 2004 License to Chill Tour (I am pretty sure this was only given to the band and crew)
(Hope I did that right - this is a photo from the web - my jacket is brand new) Size is Men's S.
We will sell raffle tickets from 5 til about 9:30 and then pull the winners.
I am hoping that this event will really be successful, and that you all have a blast!
I may be picking up another gig or 2, will try to keep you posted...
Peace
