This past weekend was the Jimmy Buffett concert in Detroit. Of course, Jimmy Buffett was awesome. However, the highlight of the weekend came on Sunday night when I was honored to be in a small but nice venue with 99 other people to see Mac McAnally. It was an evening that was so incredible, and I only wish that it could have gone on forever. The money raised from this event went to the Wounded Warriors Project which is a cause near and dear to my heart as I work for the VA.
I have been wanting to see a Mac McAnally show for the past two years, and Sunday night I got my wish hands down. He put on an excellent show complete with his awesome stories that make me smile and laugh. Of course, the music was fantastic with Mac alternating between guitar and piano. However, the thing that was most impressive is how Mac presents himself. He has a genuine humbleness and a kind soul which I find very becoming.
It was an incredible evening, and I sure hope that I have the chance to do something like this again.

Here we are, maybe it's because in spite of all the work we do
It's the child in us we really value
Here we are, with our fins up and our feathers flashing
Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting

Thank you Penny! I love that picture, and I am so happy that he took the time to take that picture with me. That is one moment that I wanted to continue on forever.

So happy to hear that you got to experience the joys of a Mac show, Liz! It's been years since I've made it to one of his shows, but your sentiments echo exactly how they used to make me feel!
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave
