Just confirmed with my buddy that we're coming down for the L'villle show on 3/3. We've been to about 115 shows between us and he actually introduced me to Buffett when we were in high school in the 80's.
No tickets yet but we'll either scalp or get lucky in some other way. We're sort of seat snobs so we'll keep an eye on various sources before we pull the trigger. I think the preshow plan is to head to 4th St but would be interested in potentially hooking up with some fellow BNers if possible.
Roll with the punches
Play all of his hunches
Make the best of whatever came his way
What he lacked in ambition
He made up with intuition
Plowing straight ahead come what may

I just checked Ticketbastard and there are seats available. I was only able to find a max of two together, but the best ones were in the 100 level.

Here'e the link:
March 3rd KFC Yum Center Tickets

Good luck to those needing tickets.
The next time you get mad, ask yourself the following question. Will it will matter a year from now?
If it won't, breathe in, breathe out and move on. Life is short, remember to have fun along the way.

I reserved rooms at a bunch of hotels before I knew where we were staying. I'm just about to cancel reservations for Friday and Saturday at: econolodge downtown, Marriott downtown and residence in downtown. If you know somebody who is looking for a room, email me at pjstravel at g mail dot com and we will coordinate my cancellation and their pick up. All rooms are 2 double beds

here's a public service announcement for those out of towners attending the Louisville show...

it's not pronounced "Loo iss ville" or "Lewy ville"

now I know you northern folk talk all funny and stuff but I'll help you fit in down here... you'll be drinking moonshine, bettin' on horses, going barefoot, wearin' overalls and yellin' Yeehaw in no time

just pronounce it "Loo uh vull" and everybody and their cousin will think you are from right in their back yard.

now it is ok to to say "Margararitaville" because I don't think I've heard anyone sing it as "Margaritavull"

hope everyone is ready to turn Louisville into Margaritaville!

Leaving Chicago in about 1 hour to start the L'ville Buffett road trip.
Still don't know our preshow party plans. 4th St I'm guessing.

well it was a cool start to the "tailgating" down on 4th street live. I was there at noon and there was really only a handful of people milling around. Derby City Parrothead club was setting up... talked to a few people from the Bluegrass Parrothead club. there was some rumors of some underground tailgate parties in some parking garages, hotel parking lots, and down by the river, but there were plenty of drink specials, live band and parrot mania and people began to wander into the 4th street live area and by 2 it was beginning to show a bit of a crowd.

I probably posed for 100 pictures with various random people with the hat and fin combo attracting alot of attention LOL. It is just amazing to be able to interact with so many people in such a carefree way, having nothing more than the Jimmy Buffett experience as a common bond. I met alot of people from here on the forums as well! There is no crowd as laid back as a Buffett crowd. And everyone I talked to had a great story, or something to share. When you talk with someone from a Buffett crowd it is almost like you have been life long friends. Met lots of great people from regular Cincy tailgating, heard lots of great things about Indy as well.

There was one young lady, and a small group of her friends, that had a friend or husband (i can't remember which she said) that passed away... and she told me how he would always have a crazy hat and costume for the tailgating and concert, so she wanted to have a picture with me so she could send it to her friends. She told me about some of the great times she had with "Steve" at concerts, and she really was at times on the edge of bursting into tears. The band had also been playing this version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and she said that song would always get to her... we had a toast to Steve and all the great times he had shared with them. It really was a heartfelt moment and I'm one of the last to get mushy like that but it is something I will never forget. And where else can complete strangers have a moment like that in this day and age? the people and situations like this is why a Jimmy Buffett concert will continue to be the greatest show around.

Awesome story my friend. We had a wonderful time at the concert too. I've been hooked on Buffett shows since I attended my first one last year. The atmosphere at these shows are amazing.
