I know I'm new to the circle of parrotheads even though I've like Jimmy's music for a while.

Now that I know what his concerts are like, I'm wondering how many more I'll get to experience.

That question gets asked every year. And every year people pretty much say the same thing, it will end when he wants it to end and we have no idea when that will be. So don't worry about when it will happen, just live for the now and have fun going to the shows.

I'm a long way off from retiring but that sounds like it will be fun. Hell I'd love to attend a show somewhere more tropical than Texas.

Congrats on your retirement and enjoy the tour...

Jimmy said he went to see Leonard Cohen to see what it looks like to be 75 and still performing...he said it looked pretty darn good.

I'm hoping for 10 more years. Jimmy is in such great shape! I kinda think the BIG SHOW will change, but Jimmy will go on performing in some capacity until "his hair's full gray and he slowly slips away..."

so as Pam AND Jimmy say BUT NOT YET!!!

At the Hurricane Hannah show at GW, back in 2008, he told us he wanted to be around 10 more years.....so that gives us 8 more years......but only Jimmy knows for sure.

Well... this is based on things Jimmy has actually said...

In 2008, it was a presidential election year, and at the October Vegas show he joked "and if I am elected to serve 8 more years...."

Then on the Encores album, (I forget which song) he jokes about "ten more years."

My best guess? Jimmy's thinking about going till he's 70, then maybe think it over again. Still, though, only JB really knows.

Enjoy it while you can. :wink:

That song is "Nautical Wheelers" from the Hurricane Hannah show at GW (9/4/2008) that I referred to in my post earlier :D
