Maybe SPLASH was the sound of Carl Hiaasen's golf ball going in the water from His Downhil Lie after taking up golf again after 32 years away from it.weirdo0521 wrote:parrothead_girl_5 wrote:Well you do know that "Splash" was the 2nd children's book that he wrote, but it is not the sequel to "Hoot". What is "Splash"? The only young adult/kids books by Hiaasen that I've read are Hoot, Flush and Scat. Is Splash new?
As far as the movie goes, anything I read following the release of Hoot, Jimmy made it seem like it would be a long long time before he was involved with a movie again. He didn't seem to be a big fan of the process.
sell one of the kids.. making the family smaller means more resources..Bfan53again wrote:We've never made it to MOTM despite our best intentions......but we are going to KW in April, Bermuda in June, and just had to unexpectedly replace our furnace in the house. I doubt that I can fit MOTM in the 2010 family budget now!C-Dawg wrote:Hope so, but can't commit right now. We just dropped some coin on a house in KW for MoTM, and still have to get our tix for GW, get our sailboat in the water and a few other things.....if the bank account is fat enough, I'm gonna try to come down for Saturdays show.Bfan53again wrote:Agreed.......and you doin' Chris?C-Dawg wrote:Would rather see him do "Take Another Road/ A Salty Piece of Land".
Coming to Virginia for The Labor Day Weekend Show again this year?
Any chance of seeing you in KW this November?
True True I'd be happy with anything that floats...but i'm not even sure if mine doesBfan53again wrote:Hey, the way I see it is any boat is a good boat.........as long as it floats!sailorkid94 wrote:Yes, it is a daysailer! It's rather interesting, although in a sort of morbid way since 9/11, to see how many times the WTC turns up in old movies, movie posters, and so on. My most poignant find so far is in the opening credits of the old "Odd Couple" TV series, where there are a couple of background NYC skyline shots with the WTC still under construction.

As far as I know he has only writen 2 childrens books. "Hoot" and "Flush". But then again I could be wrong, but even according to Carl Hiaasen's website he has those 2 children's books.conched wrote:Wasn't the name of that book SCAT and it was the 3rd? Agreed, sometimes it's fun to just watch a movie, for, well, fun.........I love the scenery, too!citcat wrote:I LIKED Hoot. Especially the scenery. It's a sweet movie, and I can't wait for my grandbabies to be old enough to see it.
