Mac McAnally Wins CMA Musician of the Year
Mac McAnally wins the 2008 CMA award for Musician of the Year. It marks his first CMA win. He was nominated in the same category last year.
Mac scored his biggest hit single in 1977 when his song “It’s a Crazy World” peaked at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Jimmy Buffett has recorded a number of his songs (some co-written by Jimmy) including: “In the City”, “Coast of Carolina”, “License to Chill”, “It’s My Job”, “Semi-True Stories”, “Changing Channels”, “Last Man Standing”, and “Tonight I Just Need My Guitar”. McAnally also wrote the Top 40 country music single “Back Where I Come From” which was recorded by Kenny Chesney.
Mac McAnally's song "Down the Road" was recently released as a single from Kenny Chesney's album "Lucky Sun". A video of the two performing a duet is available at YouTube.
