Song Writing...

Post by Burgerflickle »

I was wondering if any of yall think that Jimmy will come out with any more party songs in the future. I know that you can consider "Party At The End Of The World" a party song and other songs like that, but im talking about like Margaritaville, Volcano, Cheeseburger In Paradise........etc. I know its nearly impossible to even come close to any of those songs, but Jimmy is all about partying and having a good time, so i was wondering if any of yall think he will come out with anything like that in the future?

Enough of the cheesey schitck, I'd rather hear new stuff along the lines of He Went To Paris or A Pirate Looks At Forty than any of that novelty crap. Party at the End of the World has to be one of the worst songs he's ever committed to disc.

Now ain't that just the beauty of Bubba. Two phine pholks, who both enjoy diametrically opposed styles of his writing. Gotta luv it.

I think the only one who can answer what Jimmy will someday write is...Jimmy. And, being a songwriter myself, I know that it's often impossible to predict what's going to be delivered by the Muse. So maybe Jimmy himself doesn't know.

Strong words.

I'm going to jump out on a limb and guess that you hate "Hot Water" and "Off to See the Lizard", too. ;)

Wow! So I guess you didn't like the song. :o Fortunately we can skip over the ones we don't really like and play the ones we do... over and over and over....... [smilie=boggl3y3dummy-ani.gif]
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Hot Water is a gem with "Bring back the Magic," "That's What Living is to Me" and a couple others, though it does have a few weak ones like the very forgettable opener.

Now Lizard... that's a tough one to defend.

I don't even hate Party at the End of The World, there's just songs I favor over it. I also like Hot Water and Lizard. In fact I like all of Buffett's albums, just some more than others. You can't knock one out of the ballpark each and every time.
