I think the guy in the front row standing up at the beginning was staged to make it seem more real for the theatre audience. Agreed or disagreed?
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

Interesting. All 3 of the ones I picked up at out theater said "Jimmy Buffet".
The Mahalia Jackson theater?

I believe the question was for those who attended live...

I meant the people who (like me) saw the simulcast in the movie theaters. Sorry, I'm severely undercaffinated today.

Nope. There was an older gentleman who walked right in front of the camera which obscured the vision of those in the movie theatres. It was a big "inside" joke for everyone who was not there live.

Quiet and Shy wrote:ST. SOMEWHERE: Sounds like you had a great time and I'm happy for you and your sister. I wasn't in NO, and I didn't get to see the show (no power in Indy), but just reading through the thread, I think people are upset at others in the audience who were disruptful or annoying -- I don't see anyone pointing a finger directly at you. And, from Jimmy's reaction, your actions were welcome and not an intrusion. So, take it easy and enjoy the memory of a great night.

For the others, I'm sorry to see such a fun thread that I've enjoyed reading spiral down into the mud slinging. :(

If anyone can share some of the good Q&A that Jimmy enjoyed, I'd love to learn more. Thanks! :)
Dear Quiet and shy,

Thank you for your kind reply. I dont mean to put a damper on this, but this is a finger pointed directly at me. Dont get me wrong i'm ok w/ it b/c everyone has their own opinion and i respect that.... check it out

"So maybe you don't an autograph... or maybe you find another way. But, when he says, "don't ask for autographs", don't be so self-centered as to think, "gee, he probably doesn't mean ME.. he means all those other folks, because I AM SPECIAL".

Respect the man's wishes, and there might be more of these concerts; torque him off, and they go away that much sooner. (one of the reasons there are no large concerts in Palm Beach was due to a decision following a torquing off..)

That's not negative, that's simply a statement of fact. And it comes from maturity. At 13, you aren't expected to be completely mature, but don't abuse the grace-period."

No, there was an older guy with white hair sitting in the live NO audience front and center. He stood up right before Henry Butler came out. He stood up, turned around, and took off his hat or something. Then he smiled and waved. He was wearing a white t-shirt, then later he but on a black sweatshirt. You guys were probably just a few seats down from him. Anyway to the simulcast crowd, it seemed like he was in the theatre with us.

Yes - But I couldn't find a Buffet that would let me in with my ticket stub!

Instead of using theatre audience, we should probably specify Mahalia or simulcast.

Well, don't worry about that 1 finger - the owner of it has a problem with kids at shows!  Many of us were merely excited for you, your sister, and your aunt for that matter!

Also, loved the off-stage "Holy Sh*t" comment from Jimmy when he found out how long he was onstage. Think he didn't know his mic was still on?
I think people in New Orleans must have printed the tickets......this is a joke! I am from the area and I could not help myself  :D

There were actually two guys that had on white shirts, (i was on the second row, about 4 seats over from st somewhere and his sister) they older gentleman actually came to the show wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and took it off upon arriving. the other man had a white dress shirt on. ate the very beggining of the show some man came up to them with two black t-shirts and asked them to put this on because their white shirts were causing a glare on one of the cameras. (i had on a light blue so i guess i was ok :-) anyway, the older man stood up and put his sweatshirt back on and the younger man had to put on the "ATC" or something like that t shirt on. So in short, no it was not set up.
