Paris 2016

I hope Paris is on the tour this year. I would assume that with the tragic events that happened Mr. Buffett would want to show his support. Le Finmen sera à Paris cette année pour soutenir cette belle ville et bien sûr Buffett...

Moi aussi, mon ami. I worry every year it will be his last visit. I am guessing September 24th.

Woohoo! I have tickets for both nights.

First time to Paris. Any suggestions on hotels for this show? Is this a good area to be based out of for the usual tourist stops.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Fins up!

Great news, you will not be disappointed with Jimmy or Paris. Stay in the 1st or 2nd if you want walking distances, the 5th or 6th if you want restaurants. The area around La cigale has 'atmosphere' and is very lively till late. As a result the hotel prices are lower. If you are staying for 4 nights or more it might be worth getting an apartment. Always try to stay near a metro station. Don't eat at anyplace you can go to at home. Taste trumps comfort. Hope to see you there.

You will love being there for Jimmy and Paris! I would agree with the previous post about where to stay. I usually stay in the Bastille area but this trip I will be in the 5th across the river from Notre Dame. And definitely take in some local eateries while there!! See ya at the shows!!

For those that have been before, can you let me know how seating works? Is all the seating first come first serve? It looks like there are two types of seats. Floor and balcony. IS that the case? I do see a good number of tickets http://www.viagogo.com/Paris/Concert-Ti ... tt-Tickets but the wording and pricing seem very different. While it looks like there are two types of tickets I see some that say row A or Row C, but not sure how that works. Any advice would be great.

Appears there will be all seating on Friday for the first time in my knowledge. Second night is typical with the seats removed from the floor. Last year it was getting crowded on the floor the first night(struggle to get back to your spot with a full beer). They may also want to limit the number and time the lineup starts on a week day. The stage edgers start the line early in the morning. If you paid top dollar and are not in the first few rows of the balcony you must have a seat on the floor.

Most seem to go to the Hard Rock. A few years ago a bunch of us went to a park and had wine, bread, cheese and fruit while listening to some buffett tunes. Some buy beer at the market across from La Cigale and party in line or on the Boulevard. One year we met on the steps at Sacre Coer. Last year we went to a restaurant for an early supper and loaded up on shrimp and rose just prior to doors opening. By far the lamest thing is to travel to one of the most beautiful and unique cities in the world and eat and drink at a chain shop.

We are arranging a Hemingway/Buffett pub crawl on Thursday (Sept.22). Pm me if you are interested. We have tried out a lot of bars over the years and if you close your eyes for a moment you can re-live the 20's in Paris. I am sure Jimmy has done the same thing on occasion.

Does anyone know who will be the support/guest for Jimmy and CRB? I think last year was Stephen Stills...

Normally there is no opener or guest but last year Stephen and Graham showed up to do Southern Cross with the band. CSN played the Olympia the next night. Might be something special this year. Our first year was 2009 but I believe 2016 with be the 10th visit for James and CRB and maybe the last. Lets hope not.

2016 is the 9th year in a row but he missed one year so only 8 sets of shows.

2007 was the first time when he played the New Morning. There were only just over 200 of us there!

Thanks for the offer PHG74. One seat might do if the boyfriend can't make it from London. Where is the seat, I can sit by myself and let the keet sit with her mama. PM me please. No shoes- you are right of course, we booked on spec in 2009 after hearing about the New Morning shows and got lucky when he announced La Cigale. MIssed 2012-2014 but returned last year. Looking forward to this trip and especially a restaurant just referred by a well known European golfer.
