Is the plan still to meet up at the Lowes? I guess I should have provided my contact info to be kept in the loop I'm in Chantilly and ready to head that way if there's anything going on. Thanks!

I haven't heard otherwise, although I'm guessing I won't make it to Lowe's before everyone gets in line for the lots. Do you have anyone's contact info to meet with the group?KWGypsy wrote:Is the plan still to meet up at the Lowes? Have fun everyone. Hopefully the storms will bypass you. I still can't believe there are lawn tickets still available right now. The crackdown on tailgating has really had an effect. I never missed a show (and many years more than one at Stone Ridge/Nissan/Jiffy Lube) starting in 1995 but this will be the second year I've not attended. It's just not worth the effort for the little bit of time they allow and the numerous restrictions. So I spend my Buffett dollars elsewhere. That said, I hope everyone has a fantastic time and gets home in one piece. Fins Up!
It was too much tequila . . . . or not quite enough.

Curious if anyone shot video of Workin' & Playin' last night. I wasn't expecting to be on the big screen until CILCIA and almost missed it. Would love to get a screen capture.

Re: Who's going to The Lube June 20th, 2015?
Obviously the weather was kind of a bummer, but all things considered, it could have been worse. We were able to wait out the worst of the monsoon from 7-8PM in the car, then enter JLL about 8:15. We left a little early (had a nine-year-old who was wet and cold) but with a solid four hours of tailgating and about 75% of the show, I feel like we got our money's worth! Jimmy was in fine form, of course!!

Here are some of the pics I took on Saturday. Took very few at the tailgate and during the show, but got some good preshow pics I thought were worth sharing.

So I'm curious what time they actually opened the lots.. We pulled in at 4:09 and there were WAY too many cars already set up for it to have been opened on time at 4:00.

Re: Who's going to The Lube June 20th, 2015?
Our BN caravan of about 10 cars left Lowes at 3:00 or so. We ended up pulling over at the traffic light closest to the venue and sat in another small parking lot for a few minutes. An unmarked police car came by at said they are opening the lots in about 10 min. We headed out and were in the parking lot by about 3:15. BUT -- our group got split up. We were in Section C3 with 6 cars. Bob ended up in B2 and I'm not sure where the rest of the gang was.WVParrothead wrote:So I'm curious what time they actually opened the lots.. I don't know how many margaritas Linda had, but we were still over on the side area we had to turn into at 3:15. We didn't head into the parking lots until about 3:45.
Now premier parking (an extra $20) was opened earlier, perhaps 3:00 pm. Also VIP parking.
Linda's memory is fuzzy.

I was in line back at the traffic light at 3:45 on the phone with tailgatingph and you guys were just turning into the parking lot at that point. So, the lots officially opened somewhere just after 3:30.

Re: Who's going to The Lube June 20th, 2015?
It was 3:28 when the unmarked came through saying the lots were opening in 2 min so we headed out. It took us til 3:45 to go about a city block and make it into the lot. We were going extra slow to try and keep the group together but we still ended up loosing some.
Thanks for posting the pics Jeff! I did get some of you & the luge
It was a good day hanging with all you crazies!
I am (& will always be) b*tched up about them not allowing canopies even more so once we got set up & saw how we were packed in like sardines.
When we 1st arrived the parking lot attendant said I couldn't set up the ice luge. I waited til about 5:30 & set it up anyway. When he came back through I said I was sorry & would take it down. He said don't worry about it & even took a 'shot' of water off it poured by non other than Saltx3!
The skies opened up just after we got through the gate & we got soaked. But the beautiful rainbow, great show from Jimmy & hanging with phriends made it all worth it!!

I was busy pouring down the luge I didn't get too many. Although the "First Toast to Al" pictures came out amazingly!!!

Re: Who's going to The Lube June 20th, 2015?
Jiffy Lube Live Sucks as a concert venue......
Lots open late, told we had to take down our canopy, told we had to drink out of cups, not bottles......jeezus, surprised they weren't collecting a 'fun tax' just for being there. I'm miss going to Alpine Valley, which IMHO, is the greatest tailgating scene in the nation.
Felt sorry for the folks on the lawn during the storm, that was nasty but the rainbow was cool as was Jimmy coming out for he impromptu song before the show.
It was good to attend my first show in 3 years, and about 55th (I've actually lost track of the actual number) overall.
