Put on A1A right now , I feel like I'm in the middle of a divorce again. "A PIRATE LOOKS AT FORTY " is the only song thats going to get me through this topic.

How about "She's Got You". It's a catchy tune, but the words are obviously about losing a significant other to someone else...very sad.

"Distantly in Love" and "Coast of Marseilles".

Really sad songs, but sometimes you need to hear them just so you don't forget.

Two of my all-time favorite tunes are also two of the saddest...
Island- it makes me want to cry everytime I hear it (especially in the winter)
Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season- this one makes me just sit there and sigh...

ust listened to "Souvenirs"... while it may not be at the very top of the "sad" list... but it is certainly should be included in the top ten.

These songs that I am posting some are meant to be sad and others are sentimental to me.

False Echos
Come Monday
Lone Palm
Love in the Library
Floridays-very sentimental to me about not living a life mediocrity.
Banana Republic
Pacing the Cage-great song, can't believe no one has said this seeming what it is about.
Captain and the Kid
If the Phone Doesn't Ring
Come Monday-I am having to let someone go because I care about them so much.
Cowboy in the Jungle-again, much like Floridays for me.

Well there is my list, I am sure I have missed a few, but it is a good start.

My vote would have to be for La Vie Dasante. Sure, it is one of the most beautiful, but listen closely to the words. That's some deap stuf...
I've been described as the twisted and dark side of a Jimmy Buffet CD...

I'd have to say that three songs come right to my mind when I think about this one..
1. Distantly in Love
2. "Survive"
3. "Pirate looks at 40"(this one makes me think of someone that used to always bring "Sunshine" into my rainy days)

Hey, what about "Nobody talks to the Captain no more" from the Floridays album. Also, "Miss You so Badly"

Nobody Speaks to the Captain no more reminds me of a great fishermen who loved the ocean, and somehow he dies or doesn't sail anymore
