For some reason Kevin & I were exhausted yesterday so we were in bed by 9:30. That's about 1.5 hours early for us. Which resulted in me being awake at 6:30 - our normal work-day wake up time. Not much going on today. Hit early church service so Kevin can go help a friend brew (Kevin brewed yesterday) and then I was planning on hanging at a church friend's pool (I've tried to make that a weekend routine). But -- it looks like the rain that came overnight will be staying around so my pool plans may be shot out of the water (pun intended)
Good morning Linda, Steve and Nancy. We have an outside service and picnics at a local church camp. It will be a nice day for it, but I'll be glad when it's done.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.
I'm not going to the Pelicans game tonight but it's Deaf Awareness Night. They're going to wear jerseys with "Pelicans" spelled in American sign language.
I was at last night's game and it was What If Night. What if they had been named the Myrtle Beach Makos instead of the Pelicans. The first 1000 people at the game got replica Makos jerseys. I was waiting to get a beer and there was a guy in front of me with his son. He didn't have a jersey so I asked him if he got there too late to get one. He did so I gave mine to his son.
E and I are going for a walk in a few minutes, then try to catch up on laundry. Service/Celebration for one of my best friends' mother who passed away a few weeks ago. Then out to dinner.
Yuck. Raining all day. No pool crashing for me. But we got a few odd jobs done. Moved a bookcase into the basement storage closet. A bookcase that daughter took when she got married and had now returned.
Also put labels and shrink wrap tops on our latest batch of Five O’Clock Winery wine.
And Kevin made us bloody Mary’s when we got home from church. Yummmmm
The Pelicans are playing the Buies Creek Astros this weekend. Those Astros have an outfielder named Seth Beer. Every time he came up to the plate in last night's game, they played a drinking song after the PA announcer said his name.

I love the announcers at our minor league Barnstormers games. It’s always fun to hear what they come up with.
The PA announcer at the Pelicans games is pretty good. At every game he'll pick a player and introduce him as "number (whatever) in your program but number 1 in your heart." Last year they had a player from Canada who had a big, bushy red beard and he was the red bearded Canuck. This year they had an outfielder, who has been promoted to the Double A team, who was number 9. He was "number 9, your friend and mine, Connor Meyers."
