National Cranberry Relish Day Sunday at the MSC
Opening a bit late this morning and this is what I came across. Talk about cranberry relish all you want.

Good morning John and BN!!
I love fresh AND canned cranberry sauce. I love cranberries!
Nowhere to go today. E is making his chili, and I'll be the sous chef.
Cooking and laundry is about it. Other than getting some things ready for the drive/stay to Oklahoma on Wednesday.

On a more somber note, I just realized this is the day JFK was murdered in Dallas in 1963.
I was in 2nd grade and remember that day.

I was only 3. But I still have a memory of my Mom rushing out the front door to go to our neighbors house across the street.

Good morning Penny and John. I enjoy cranberries in many forms.
JFK's death ended a wonderful period of culture in our leadership. Maybe we will see that again some day.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Grew up with canned but now I make fresh cranberry relish every year, spiked with Gran Marnier.

Not a big fan of cranberries, I can take them or leave them.
I was 16 when JFK was killed, living in the DC suburbs in northern Virginia. I remember it well, still have the pic I took of the flags around the Washington Monument at half staff.

I have to buy a can of cranberry jelly stuff for my FIL, but I prefer my homemade Cranberry Orange Relish. I also add a dash of Gran Marnier or Triple Sec....

I use fresh cranberries for Christmas decorating.
Kevin likes the cranberry stuff that gets sucked out of a can and then sliced.

Re: National Cranberry Relish Day Sunday at the MSC
I notice old people tell their age unsolicited as if they amazed of cheating death.
I was a young adult, picking up a six pack in a bar one hot afternoon when an old bar fly asked, "Guess how old I am!"
I was in no mood to humor him and replied, "I don't know....somewhere between 65 and dead."
The look on his face showed he was not amused with my humor.
I asked sincerely how old he was and he proudly said 72. I complimented him with something like,"Oh, well, you look good." In my head I thought" good for a chain smoking alcoholic."

I was 4 and living in a very strict (although I didn't know it at the time) Mennonite foster home (no tv or other "worldly objects") so I knew nothing about this
