Do they really call our summer, winter down there?

i just thought that the term "Summer", you would associate with cold temperatures, and "Winter" with warm while ours is just the opposite.

Guess i learned something today. I will drink to that.... 8)

Evening BNers

Now I remember why I don't leave the house....
Stopped at Walgreens to get drugs. Walgreens app said Rxs were ready. Computer said I had nothing ready. And I needed to call my Dr.
Hmmm. I did that yesterday. The more she worked with computer, the less she was finding. She called pharmacists and he said nothing had been called in. Why did app say they were ready???
Finally she found all my drugs. Weird.
But I got them.

I have been having trouble with my phone so I stopped at att. Sweet little girl fixed it. Recently I have been charged for overcharges. She assured me that I haven't. I tried ro argue with her but she said I was wrong.
Think I will become a hermit.😶

Hello Everybody!

Busy day in Chambers 5 and I'm actually using my work laptop right now -- taking a little break from work. Yep -- it's 7:00pm here and I'm still using this thing off and on for work.....I'm so over the disrupted court system and it's not getting any better. Now the prison is on complete lockdown (perps allowed in but not out) because of the rampant COVIDIDIS.....(That's my new word). Which means if anyone shows up on foot at the courthouse because they found out there is an active Bench Warrant on their head. (these folks were formally called a "Walk-in"), we can't transport them to the prison and hold them there until the next Bench Warrant session. They will be put in one of the luxurious courthouse holding cells until 3:00 when all of them will then individually send before a Judge. Then, off they go.....so, we have now added a new, daily, court session to the court calendar. UGH.

Hi there! i listened to a lot of RM on the way shopping. At our favorite Mexican restaurant, I had camarones a ,la diablo, I think it means devil shrimp. I get hot sauce for the rice. Yum.

I took a short fishing trip later. What a nice day.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Gorgeous, warm, sunny day in Vacationland. My work ended early this afternoon so we went to a deck party happy hour and then met neighbors for some BBQ. Won't be many more days this warm.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

DEFINITION OF “SEASON”
What exactly is a “season”? Astronomists and meteorologists define seasons differently.

The astronomical start of a season is based on the position of the Earth in relation to the Sun. More specifically, the start of each season is marked by either a solstice (for winter and summer) or an equinox (for spring and autumn). A solstice is when the Sun reaches the most southerly or northerly point in the sky, while an equinox is when the Sun passes over Earth’s equator. Because of leap years, the dates of the equinoxes and solstices can shift by a day or two over time, causing the start dates of the seasons to shift, too.

In contrast, the meteorological start of a season is based on the annual temperature cycle and the 12-month calendar. According to this definition, each season begins on the first of a particular month and lasts for three months: Spring begins on March 1, summer on June 1, autumn on September 1, and winter on December 1. Climate scientists and meteorologists created this definition to make it easier to keep records of the weather, since the start of each meteorological season doesn’t change from year to year.

So, our astronomical summer is during our meteorological summer and our astronomical winter is during our meteorological winter but down in Rabbitzland their astronomical summer in during their meteorological winter and their astronomical winter is in their meteorological summer....
