Phin power for all who are in the path of the storm.
On a lighter note, it's our 42nd Anniversary today. I got my traditional Ohio State nails done today, then made a stop at the grocery store and liquor store. Got a few chores done around here and made Bryan a meatloaf for dinner. (Not exciting but he requested it) Then I just got a text from my middle daughter that there have been news leaks that the Big 10 is going to make an announcement this evening and is going to announce an 8 game season with the Big 10 championship game to be played on the same day as the other conferences championship games. I'm praying that this is true...it would be an amazing Anniversary present

Awww thanks! We were very young, no one thought we'd make it. No wedding to speak of, only me, Bryan, the minister, my mom and my mom's bff were there. Re: Middle of Sept TUESDAY @ the MSC
Well Spring has sprung.
And the grass is riz.
I wonder were the birdies iz?
No need to answer that - they're all in our back garden, squawking and fighting. Apparently WWIII is happening in our callistemon (bottle brush) trees.
We have a few pairs of Rainbow Lorikeets that we feed semi-regularly, also recently a pair of King Parrots have started to come a visiting. The lorikeets are currently waging a frontal assault on a bunch of insurgent Indian Mynors, who in turn are fighting a second front against a local partisan group of Native and Noisy Minors.
The Wattle Birds are defending their grevillea blossoms, while the Butcher Bird is busy digging in the compost heap.
Meanwhile, the King Parrots are sitting on the outdoor grill chirping away asking for some seeds.
How am I supposed to work with this cacophony? Also it's still only 6:45 AM.
Looking at a 85Β°F day with heavy smoke haze. More hazard reduction burns nearby. It could explain the concentration of birds.
OK now, they've done it. The neighbours dog has had enough and is explaining to them that they should shut up, of course his barking has set off a domino effect of every dog in the neighbourhood.

Re: Middle of Sept TUESDAY @ the MSC
Except ours aren't quite so out of control.
But I guess we need to get used to it as this will be the new norm. More storms, more and bigger fires, but as the western world govt's seem beholden to fossil fuel companies not much will change...

Yo.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!

Still raining here....storm is looking to stall still and move farther east in the coming hours.....Wife's wine cellar is seeing standing water which she isn't happy about.....there is a pump in there that obviously isn't working so the shop vac has been brought in for relief.

She has also declared a Hurricane Party for those neighbors who will venture over.....which i would assume will be about 5 couples......a few bottles are out of the cellar and the fridge is stocked with beer...not running out into the rain for taps....unless, the need really is there for an IPA...
