Good morning. For the first time since Monday we don't have a heat advisory but since it's the Saturday of a holiday weekend I'm not sure I want to go anywhere.

The Golden Knights finally scored against Vancouver's goalie and won game 7, after the announcer said he had made 98 consecutive saves over 3 games. I was sorry to see Colorado lose the other game, I'm entered in 2 online Stanley Cup brackets and I had Vegas and Colorado playing for the Western Conference championship in both of them. I picked Vegas to win in one bracket and Colorado in the other. Now I have to hope my Islanders can win tonight, I have them going to the Stanley Cup Finals in both of my brackets, beating Colorado in one and losing to Vegas in the other.

The president of our HOA sent out an email to the community this morning - a snake was spotted, and killed, in front of one of the other buildings in the development late yesterday afternoon. In the second sentence he said it was a copperhead. Copperheads are venomous, maybe he should have led with that information.

This is the weekend that we annually go to Indy for the US Nationals. I have missed years but Larry has been going for years. We aren't going and none of our local friends are either.

Penny, I'm SO glad that your boy is back in your arms! Sorry about the sewer Moog, that really sux!
I'm done cleaning, Bryan is finishing up power washing the deck... having a margarita, then I've got one more load of laundry and then I'm heading to the kitchen. I have a chocolate cake to make for my second oldest grandson! We are celebrating his birthday early when they get here tomorrow! I have leftover ham from last weekend and I'm going to make ham salad, tomorrow I'm putting a big batch of chili in the Crock-Pot and we'll have cornbread with it. I have deviled eggs, baked beans, fries ( for the kids) and burgers, hot dogs and brats on the menu for Monday! My kitchen is gonna get a workout . My youngest daughter and her fiancee are coming over for dinner tomorrow, she LOVES chili! And my middle daughter might come over for dinner on Monday. My in laws were going to come for a visit on Monday, but Erin (my oldest) called last night to tell me that 2 of the little girls have a summer cold, so my in laws decided to err on the side of caution and stay home. That's what is so freaking hard right now....you can't just get normal sick ... everyone freaks out!!!

There's a baseball game on TV, Oakland is playing San Diego. Oakland's shortstop is a guy named Vimael Machin. At the end of the 2017 season and the beginning of the 2018 season he played a total of about 75-80 games for the Pelicans. He played 1st base, 2nd base and 3rd base, never played a game at shortstop. He was a good, but not great player. I never expected to see him make it to the major leagues.
