Why does that sound familiar??......Years and years ago, used to vacation on St. Pete's Beach at the Holiday Inn. It was a circular hotel with a rotating bar on top.
Not sure? I have a long time bbf from high school who lives in Sarasota and when I go to visit her the first stop we made (after she picked me up in Tampa) was the Swigwam! We'd get our Bushwhacker and walk out to the water and walk along the beach! I believe the owner is Rob. The last time I visited, we went to the new location and I was wearing my old school Swigwam hat and my Bushwhacker was on the house! And Rob gave me loads of SWIG swag! Great guy, great drink and great dive bar! If I knew how to post pics I would!

Like what we call "red beet eggs" ?bodypainter wrote: ↑July 7, 2020 9:22 pm This is a fun thread. How about dive bar food?
I enjoyed free popcorn and shelled peanuts.
A few years back, we fished so late, the restaurant had closed where we staying. The attached bar only had pickled eggs. I have seen these "snacks" in my youth in hometown bars.
I was really hungry.
The egg was not good.
welcome backRIPH wrote: ↑July 8, 2020 8:57 am Wow, I should check the MSC more often!
Glad you are feeling better Penny!
The old Swigwam was located at the Post Card Inn on St Pete Beach but now its called the PCI Beach Bar and yes Penny, that does look like it.
Michi, The Holiday Inn was located a bit further south on Gulf Boulevard with the rotating bar and it is now called the Grand Plaza hotel.
We like the Toasted Monkey which is in between these two right on the beach. Not really a dive bar but still reasonable and very nice.
On the other side of Gulf Boulevard is Macnastys, which is also really good little bar just not beach front.
Have a great day everyone!
Yup, only I would call them old beet eggs.Saltx3 wrote: ↑July 8, 2020 7:07 amLike what we call "red beet eggs" ?bodypainter wrote: ↑July 7, 2020 9:22 pm This is a fun thread. How about dive bar food?

The Swigwam is currently located at 336 Corey Ave in St Pete Beach. I was lucky enough to have visited a couple of years ago!RIPH wrote: ↑July 8, 2020 8:57 am Wow, I should check the MSC more often!
