Pumpkin Cheesecake MONDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning !
Today is NATIONAL PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE DAY (I'm guessing this is not a crowd pleaser).
Each year on October 21st, National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day ushers in the flavors of fall. Cheesecake is one of America’s favorite desserts and by adding pumpkin, we celebrate the essential flavoring of the season.
This sweet dessert mixes fresh soft cheese, cream cheese or cottage cheese, eggs, and sugar to create a base. The crust is made from crushed graham crackers, crushed cookies, pastry or sponge cake. Pumpkin may be added to cheesecake recipes in various ways. For example, it may be swirled throughout, mixed thoroughly with all ingredients or layered. Bakers prepare cheesecakes both baked or unbaked. Some bakers flavor cheesecakes and top them with fruit, fruit sauce, chocolate or whipped cream.
An ancient form of cheesecake may have been a popular dish in ancient Greece. The earliest attested mention of cheesecake is by the Greek physician, Aegimus. He wrote a book on the art of making cheesecakes.
James Kraft developed a form of pasteurized cream cheese in 1912. In 1928, Kraft acquired the Philadelphia trademark and marketed pasteurized Philadelphia Cream Cheese. In fact, bakers us Philadelphia cream cheese more than any other to make cheesecake than any other.
North America has several different styles of cheesecakes:
New York-style cheesecake
Pennsylvania Dutch-style cheesecake
Philadelphia-style
Farmer cheese cheesecake
Country-style cheesecake
Lactose-free cheesecake
Cheesecake Kludys
Chicago Style Cheesecake
Savory cheesecake

Good morning. Why would anyone want to ruin cheesecake by adding pumpkin to it? That's as bad as ruining chocolate by adding peanut butter.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Morning, BN. Pumpkin cheesecake doesn’t sound so bad. But I’m enjoying a cherry danish instead.

Morning BNers
I ask yesterday if anyone had heard of Mattress Mack.
He owns furniture stores in Houston. Since before the Astros went to the WS he has done things to get people into the store. First was buy X amount of furniture and if Astros wins the series, you get your $ back. The Astros won so he had a huge party to refund money.
Last year, it was X amount of mattresses. Astros didn't win.
This year, it was the same thing with mattresses. He goes to casinos and places bets to pay for those mattresses. He placed $3.5 million in Biloxi and more millions in NJ.
He might be crazy but he is a business man!!!
GO ASTROS!!!

Hi there! I had a nice day on the river until I went to load the boat on the trailer. Two other trailered boats were blocking part of the ramp so the owners could visit. I squeezed around them and loaded up.
Grrrrr…….. protocol demands boats are to be loaded and moved out of the way ASAP.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good evening! Had a very busy day at work today, then came home and made homemade pizza for dinner, even though I wasn't feeling very well, and I'm still feeling a little nauseous with a headache... Anyway, it was a beautiful day here in central Ohio, but I'm getting ready to head to bed and see if I wake up feeling better in the morning. Have a great evening!

Re: Pumpkin Cheesecake MONDAY @ the MSC
Evening BN.
So today was a busy day at work. I had three new employees scheduled to do their paperwork with me. (I'm not HR, but have them bring me their I-9 info, licenses, and sign some generic HR paperwork). 10 minutes before the second appointment, they emailed me and said they weren't coming cause they wanted day shift (RN), not night shift. Duh. That was what was offered to you!
After work I was going to a 'meeting' with the executive staff where Mom lives. My sister (Kathy) and I were going. Just before I left work, I got a text from Cameron. What started as a 'cold' yesterday got extremely worse, and he asked me to take him to Urgent Care (just short of calling 911) cause he couldn't breathe and his throat kept closing up. So I picked him up and headed to UC. Temp of close to 101 (not scary, just felt awful). Breathing treatment, meds, flu and strep test ( Negative) and home with cough meds and an inhaler. Got a new humidifier (SO dry at this time of year for CO), and chicken soup.
I'm exhausted from the day - worry, waiting, work stuff. Still grateful cause I'm told Mom had a great day, after having NOT such a good one on Saturday when we were there.
Sleep sweet, phriends.
