One song!

For Christmas I am trying to make a Mixed CD for a friend of mine that says he dosen't really like Buffett. I asked what all he has heard and he gives me the usual suspects CIP, Margaritaville, Get drunk and srew. If you had to pick ONE JB song as your favorite which one would it be I want to make him the best CD I can!

what kind of music does your friend listen to?

not necessarily *my* favorite JB tune, but I'd think about including Tin Cup Chalice on the CD. Or if he likes something that moves a little faster, Migration.

Just one?!?!? That's a tough question, not sure I could pick just one. However, if I were putting together a CD, here are a few I'd have on it:

Take Another Road
Tin Cup Chalice
One Particular Harbor
Someday I will
Schoolboy Heart
Far Side of the World

There are others, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of other recommendations.
Merry Christmas,

Tin Cup Chalice will be there (it's my fav). He is really into a bit heavier stuff but he also is a classic rock junky. Can I asume your fav is School Boy Heart?

I just played my Christmas Island CD while working on our website . . . how's about Ho, Ho, Ho and a Bottle of Rhum? It's pretty snappy and I kept dancing to it in my chair . . . although that could be the red wine :o :D

Depends on the day.... SBH is certainly among my favorites... I'd be hard pressed to pick just one song. Tin Cup Chalice, When the Coast Is Clear, Cowboy in the Jungle, Migration, Barometer Soup, Changing Channels, Far Side of the World, also float to the top. :)

My favorite is Manana.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I made a CD for my best friend that wasn't a PH at the time....

and put on Barefoot Children on that CD.....

now she's addicted to SYKBH... and few JB CD's that made for her to introduce OTHER JB songs.

It's a toss-up between Green Flash at Sunset and Banana Wind. :-)

A few songs in each category that may convert him:

SYKBH:
Changes In Latitudes/Attitudes
Son of A Son of A Sailor
A Pirate Looks At 40 (if this doesn't do it, NOTHING will)
Volcano

UPBEAT SONGS:
Who's the Blonde Stranger
Coconut Telegraph
One Particular Harbor
Fruitcakes

BALLADS:
All the Ways I Want You
Madamosielle Volez Vous Danser
Bring Back the Magic
Distantly In Love

RARITIES:
Somewhere Over China
Something So Feminine About A Mandolin
Oysters & Pearls
Beach House On the Moon

COVERS:
Another Saturday Night
Back To the Islands
Uncle John's Band
Banana Republics

Give him a dose of those, and if he STILL isn't convinced, I'll buy your next concert ticket.
