What does it take to meet Jimmy?
Near the top of my list of things I want to accomplish in life is to get my picture with Jimmy and for the last many years I have tried and gotten nowhere. To those of you who have had that good fortune to meet him, how did you pull it off? I obviously don't know the right people, and the things I have tried to meet a few other famous people haven't worked. I live near DC, so I doubt he's in this area much except for his concerts. To shake Jimmy's hand and have a pic to remember it would be such a big deal to me and I'm at a loss for how to do it. Does anybody have any good tips or stories on the topic?

bumrush Charleston, and while he is distracted, throw yourself on stage wearing a shark costume and start doing the hokey-pokey around Jimmy during Changing Channels..FunkHouse9 wrote:Near the top of my list of things I want to accomplish in life is to get my picture with Jimmy and for the last many years I have tried and gotten nowhere. I have heard he's isnt too forthcoming with the "meet and greets' for charities. If you managed to get one, good for you. I volunteer with a marine mammal rescue group and someone here has tried unsucessfully to get in touch with him or his management team. Hey..maybe he'll read this and call us...LOL.azbuffett wrote:Takes about 19k and him to offer a meet and greet for a charity. I will let you know how it goes when I meet him this year.
Good luck

This is America and even though JB may be a lefty, he is a capitalist pig lefty.FunkHouse9 wrote:Near the top of my list of things I want to accomplish in life is to get my picture with Jimmy and for the last many years I have tried and gotten nowhere. Throw enough $$ at him and he will come to your birthday party. Don't believe me?

Equally emblematic is the now infamous 40th birthday party former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski arranged on the island of Sardinia for his now-estranged wife Karen. Who will ever forget the ice sculpture of Michelangelo's David, or the concert by Margaritaville singer Jimmy Buffett.

The Who and Tina Turner charge $2 million, while Jimmy Buffett goes for $1 million to $1.5 million a night.
"Key West trades in on the name 'Hemingway." You can't take a leak without seeing Hemingway this and Hemingway that. And the irony is, if Hemingway were alive today he'd take a blowtorch to Duvall Street." Hiaasen
