From the CMT website:

The two cross-genre duets had been heavily promoted and paid off handsomely. The first, the Jackson-Buffet hookup on their No. 1 song “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” which was the show opener, kicked things off in a very solid vein. A barefoot, grinning Buffett was clearly ebullient to be playing his first CMA Awards show -- unaware that he would shortly be winning his first CMA Award

Ebullient is the word! JB was flyin'.

My wife thinks I'm crazy but I actually got choked up last night. Congratulations Jimmy and thanks for all the great vibes you are responsible for. And you couldn't have hooked up with a classier guy than Alan Jackson. A wonderful magical night

Is it me or did it seem like Jimmy visited a few times zones to celebrate 5 O'Clock!!! Noticed a few slips during the opening act, and he seemed a little bombed up on stage when they won..... not that there is anything wrong with that!!! I mean even I had to celebrate as well as I'm sure all of us did :D :P

Congrats Jimmy...It's about time

Wow! Was I surprised!!! I thought that JB & AJ would come in third because of the Nashville mentality which usually gives awards to
stars after they have passed (Cash) or stars that are growing
really old (Willie). Jimmy had ONLY been around 31 years. What a thrill
to see him win and the way the put the Reefers and in the tropical backgrounds was amazing.

It's about time and they let him sit on the front row. Next time ditch the suit! and what's up with those coke bottle glasses?

Now the rest of the world is starting to recognise what I've known since the 70's. Congratulations

Psssst..... now you will really have the kind of fame that brings confusion when people recognise you on a plan.... better stick to your own

Way to go Jimmy!!! I was so happy to see that you won! I also thought it was great to see you come out on stage in your barefeet...the radio people around here are having a great time with that....little do they know that is how you do most of your shows!

CONGRATULATIONS!! :P

are they replaying it on saturday?? :)

Or is that just in the UK

I was stuck at work. Those 7 pm assignments due first thing in the morning really get in the way of my attempts to live the Buffett lifestyle.
