Hi all,
I know that BN has had charity drives in the past. How would you all feel about doing a group donation from Buffettnews.com for any scholarships that would be in Mrs. Buffett's name? This was mentioned in the "Sad News About Jimmy's Mom" thread
http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18542 .
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her scholarships, info to follow

I would love to contribute. What a great idea! BN Phin Power in a tangible form.
I'll bet our own BN Pimpette -- PHAW -- would handle the donations through he PayPal account. (I think she's on vacation right now???
But she's so efficient with things like this!!!)

Great article. Thanks for finding it.
I'll bet PHAW (being the marvelous PA that she is) will help us with paperwork.

I have a phriend who can make one of those big checks like what you see them present the winner at tennis/golf tournaments....he made us one for the cookbook check presentation.....it's really neat.
Maybe if one of our BN members lives close to USMGulf Coast, we could get a check made up and get them to present it to the President in Mrs. Buffett's memory.

My mother was a teacher. Upon her death, her school district established an annual scholarship in her memory. It's a great feeling every year when we receive the information regarding that year's recipient. I think this is a wonderful idea, and will be proud to participate. Great idea, Darren (who, I might add, was a pall bearer at my mother's funeral). Thanks again, buddy

Count me in also, I think it would be great to show Jimmy how much he makes our lives better with his music, lifestyle and concerts. I would hope we could overwhelm him with a lagre donation from all of us. Let's give the family something back.

I'm in, too: I know paypal takes my loonies*
* Canadian $1 coins: for some reason the $2 coin is a toonie, not a dubloon, which would be fun.
