Re: Nat'l Vinyl Record Day Wednesday @ the MSC

I still have some vinyl albums. Most of them I held onto because of the cover art. Like "Cheap Thrills" by Big Brother and the Holding Company and "Shakedown Street" by The Grateful Dead. The covers were done by underground cartoon artists. And I have both versions of the "Blind Faith" album. :pirate:

Re: Free Ride TUESDAY @ the MSC

Good Morning Everyone! Today's music trivia is: August 11, 1973 - The Edgar Winter Group's "Free Ride" was released. Your'e all singing it now, aren't you :) The song was written by Dan Hartman, who grew up in West Hanover Township near Harrisburg, PA. He sang the vocals and played the song's signa...

Re: Hoping for Sunshine WED @ the MSC

Finally got some good news. My stepdaughter has been furloughed from her job at the airline since April. She qualifies for unemployment benefits plus the federal $600 per week stipend. In three and one half months she has yet to receive anything. No one at the state unemployment office would answer ...

Re: Hoping for Sunshine WED @ the MSC

Had a cool dry night, slept with the windows open! No rain in the forecast for today! The shop opened up to the public yesterday and we had a lot of shoppers. Everyone complied with wearing masks except for one woman with 2 teens. She refused my offer to give her one, started yelling that it's not ...

Re: Getting Wet TUES @ the MSC

Many years ago I was on my way to work, which involved fording a small creek. No problems I did it every work day in my large 4WD (Long wheel base Nissan Patrol). One day after a particularly heavy overnight storm the creek was well up. As I approached I noticed a TV news crew filming a car stuck i...

Good afternoon. It's 96 here and I just got back from swimming in that cool, spring fed lake. When it started getting crowded, we left. :pirate: Where is this 'cool, spring fed lake'? Laurel Lake in Cumberland county in PA. :pirate: https://www.visitcumberlandvalley.com/blog/post/the-lakes-of-pine-...

Crikey a lapsteel and guitar hanging off your shoulder would be a backbreaker.

I struggle with my Gibson clone some days.
You're right. Sometimes he plays them by setting it on a high stool in front of him. :pirate:

Well, that takes me back! It's like the Ventures are still alive(and better than ever before). The Atlantics and The Ventures were contemporaries. Bob Bogle (Ventures) and Eddy Matzenik and Jim Skaithitiswere (Atlantics) are said to have both "invented" that reverb rich twangy surf sound. I think t...

Re: Blowin in the Wind WED @ the MSC

Good afternoon all. I went to a supermarket in my mom's town to pick up a few items I needed and some things for Mom. As I leave the checkout and head down the aisle towards the exit I encounter a woman around 50 with a shopping cart also. "Can you get through here?", she says The space was about 6 ...

My psycho neighbor threw dog crap in my yard. So I flung it back. Next time it will be on his roof of the house.
My dad had a neighbor like that. Dad scooped it up with a shovel and flung it against the neighbor's door.
Then he smeared it with the shovel blade. Problem solved. :pirate:

Temperature dropped into the low 70's last night. I feel asleep on the couch outside on the patio watching TV. Woke up a few times but was so comfortable that i didn't go in till nearly 5:00 AM.
