Jimmy has performed 47 shows at the venue originally known as Great Woods going back to 1986.

The Set List and Comments are now available. The set list included some changes including “The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful”, “God’s Own Drunk”, and “Stars on the Water”.

Jimmy finished the show with the song “Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season”. A perfect song to end the show because Hanna had caused the concert to start at 3:00 PM, and the lawn people where caught in down pours throught out the show.

The gates of the Comcast Center opened at 7 last night, but the parking lot was open for tailgating at 11 in the morning. Who else could be in town but Jimmy Buffett? Faced with the choice of the Republican convention or the mayor of Margaritaville’s annual visit, the sold-out crowd picked the latter. Both were headlined by bald mavericks with the ocean in their veins; it didn’t even take much squinting for Buffett to look like the other guy, the T-shirt, shorts, and bare feet notwithstanding.

“I accept the nomination!” Buffett declared early on, ignoring the fact that he’d already taken office.

I apologize for the sensationalism of the opening line, but a headline like that seems to work in these times we live in. If it sounds like I am trying to embellish a story, well, isn’t that what writers do? I readily admit to a recurrent problem of moving unpredictably between fiction and fact. But if Bo Diddley didn’t actually save my life on a trip to the land of the desert blues, then he sure as hell saved my ass. So here’s the real story…
